Where the Divide Meets the Horizon: The Launch
Where the Divide Meets the Horizon: The Launch is a site-specific, multi-sensory dance platform situated on the pier across the Molos skatepark, inviting the public into a space of collective reflection, movement, and imagination. Set against the backdrop of a transitional landscape, where water, sky, and silence converge, this project seeks to reimagine the Cypriot buffer zone as a site of dialogue and creative connection. Through immersive performances, sound installations, and participatory movement workshops, the event invites passersby and invitees alike to become co-creators in a shared exploration of division, liminality, and reconnection. As the journey unfolds, boundaries begin to blur, and the horizon transforms into a meeting point for storytelling, presence, and new possibilities. The series includes the sound installation, Lethe by the Sea; the performance, buffer knots; and the participatory movement workshops, Consensual Landscapes.
The Launch is Launched markred the opening of this series of events with dance happenings and live soundscapes, shaping an atmosphere for relaxation, dialogue and coming together.
Lethe by the Sea
This sound installation gathers people around the journey of the sun as it sets. The public is invited to pause and lie down, sit , listen, and drift during the golden transition between day and night. Lethe by the Sea is a continuation of an earlier work by Klark and Sofroniou (Lethe, 2023)
Consensual Landscapes is a participatory movement workshop that practices weight-shifting through imagination and a creative world where ‘’dance’’ is epxerienced as a way of moving from one state to another. Through a collective moving session, Klark open the doors of his buffer knots research to a wider public, welcoming everyone to join. No previous dance experience required.
